PS4 System Update 5.00 Beta Available

Codenamed NOBUNAGA, Playstation 4’s beta 5.00 system update is up for grabs starting today for those that were selected for the beta program. If you signed up for the beta and were chosen, you should have received an email with instructions on how to get started. New features include: Overhauled “Family on PlayStation Network” features, including master/sub-account system and parental controls Friend list management, including custom groups Broadcasting in communities, PlayStation VR, and 1080p60fps Twitch streaming on PS4 Pro Improved Tournaments brackets viewer And much more! PlayStation Firmware 4.0 Beta Available

With less than a few hours to go, Sony is set to release v4.0 firmware as a beta preview for PlayStation 4 owners, which includes a significant UI refresh. Pop-up notifications, new system icons and backgrounds, and a handful of other tweaks comes along with the new dashboard. The Quick Menu system has also been overhauled. It also won’t cover the whole screen any more, which was never very convenient. Hitting the Share button is less of a time-suck and has support for clips 140 seconds versus the previous 10 seconds.
